AGM Minutes to be approved
A.G.M. Minutes will be distributed for approval from the Committee within the next week and will be on the Web-Site and Notice Board within the next two weeks

Welcome New Committee Members/Method of discussing topics
Warm welcome to all new and existing Committee Members, monthly meetings will be held until further notice with a solution orientation and focussed approach to all topics of discussion
Summarise intentions/roles 2011
The Committee decided that the Role of Competition Secretary will require a lot of assistance. This is due to the nature of the role, especially as the year goes on and our playing numbers become greater. Therefore a weekly rota will be drawn up by Jill for the first 5 weeks to share the role of booking - in and closing competitions. This will give some time for Peter to sort out fixtures for the remainder of the season.
The Captain stated that he had no issues with going out first on Wednesday fixtures enabling him to begin checking the score cards, making it swifter for the presentations thus saving time for the players once the fixture is over
The Captain agreed that he would continue to make the Prize Presentation, unless he asked another Committee Member to do so in his place.
Main calendar dates 2011
February 2011 we will have a Winter Blues Dinner and Dance, Secretary to organise
March away Golf Day in Benidorm with option of overnight stay, Secretary to organise
April away day for Golfers San Juan Alicante, option of overnight stay, Secretary to organise
President’s Cup will be played for on Wednesday 25 May 2011 & Saturday 28 May 2011 will be the Presidents Cup Dinner, Treasurer to organise
June will be the Golf Trip away, Treasurer to organise
Captain’s Cup will be played for on Wednesday 21 September & Saturday 24 September 2011 will be the Captains Dinner, Treasurer to organise
Monthly Trophies will be played for every month, January through to December 2011
Charity Cup Dates to be finalised at next meeting
Handicap System
We will adhere to the E.G.A. Handicap System for the Competitions, although its rules and regulations may not be adopted formally since we are not an affiliated club. This will permit, at the Committee’s discretion, operation of the CSA and General Play adjustments, among other features. Val described the current handicap software as being somewhat unreliable, with limited reporting capabilities. On checking various competitions over the past year several errors were found. As a result, she said, she found it difficult to continue with a system in which she had little confidence. She continued to explain that she had found an alternative system, with a large number of reference sites, which had been developed specifically for club/society golf and which supports the E.G.A .Handicap System. Val has test bedded this system and is impressed with the results, and circulated competition results and other reports for consideration. She recommended and the Committee agreed to purchase this new software, which currently would represent little or no extra annual expense. This new software will upload handicaps, results and Society information to a web page.
It was also agreed that the Society will only adjust Handicaps on Society Qualifying rounds each and every Wednesday,
However, members could also submit Extra Day Scores (EDS) thereby allowing handicap adjustments to be made. This would be set up in accordance with EGA guidelines in due course.

Charges for Competitions
The price per game with the Society will be 2 Euro per member and 5 Euro per guest
Any other Business
Dave Jefferson has offered his support as and when required to the Committee in the absence of a past Captain. Noting that David is past Captain this was welcomed by the Committee
Dates for the Calendar Trophies and Trophies will be completed by Peter Freeman as Competition Secretary
Agenda for next meeting to include those items referred to by the President at the AGM as being issues which the new Committee may wish to discuss.
We are looking for a Sponsor per month
A request from our Low Handicap Players therefore a Medal Round will be played on certain Sundays in the month with Peter Freeman organising this
A request from the Captain for Jill to organise mixed Golf competitions.
