Meeting opened by President David Jefferson

A warm welcome was extended to all present by the President, who explained that wine, beer and tapas this evening are provided courtesy of the Society.
A document pack was given to all members including the voting form for the election of General Committee members.
David spoke about the year being very different for various reasons, and thanked the Committee for their efforts with special thanks to General Committee members Peter Freeman and George Fidler for taking on additional responsibilities towards the end of the year.
David also mentioned the success of the Men’s team who were promoted to the first division of the Vega Baja League.
President’s Day and Captain’s Day were both great successes with the Hotel providing good fare at a reasonable cost. There was also the Winter Blues evening at La Perdiz restaurant.
Finally the President wished the Society much success for 2011.

Accepted and adopted proposed by Margaret Shine, seconded by Susan Jefferson

Suggested changes to be made to the Constitution.
Secretary presented the changes, and it was agreed that, in the absence of a nominated President, the President’s Day will become the President’s Trophy Day.
The question was raised around guests prizes with clarity given in the repsonse that guests cannot win any of our major trophies.
When guests pay to play in our Competitions the funds paid by the guests, the Society provides a guest prize or prizes dependent on how many guests play and pay.  
The question was raised around the Society going forward with or without a President, it was raised by a Member that we are a Society not a Club and therefore there is no obligation to run with a President, however we will still hold the annual Presidents Trophy Day in Honour of our Three previous Presidents.

Presentation of Accounts
The Treasurer presented the accounts and thanked Mark Leonard and Carol Cockeram for their support.

Fixtures for 2011
President’s Trophy Day will be held in May, and Captain’s Day in September 2011.

Election of Officers and General Committee members
Officers role, one name per position, and therefore taken as read.
Prospective General Committee Members presented their views as to why they should be on Committee, with Andrew MacLennan, Mike Smith, Len Mansfield, Jill Leonard, also Mark Leonard being the five who were elected as General Committee Members, many congratulations.
