16 members of the society travelled to portugal for the first time on our annual trip away.On friday we played the championship course Victoria, with John Doherty turning in a excellent score of 37pts to win with Marty Quinn 2nd and Kieran Sweeney 3rd.Saturday we played the Millennium Course, and Mervyn Whyte proved to be as steady as ever to win from the ever improving Pat Herron and Dennis O Donnell in 3rd.Sunday it was the turn of Pinhal to challenge us,with the sun still shining and a few tired legs and heads, but this was no problem to Mervyn Whyte who stayed cool to win for the second day in a row and take the overall prize, but the shot of the day and the weekend has to go to Pat Herron for his Hole in One at the par 3 14th,this ace is the first ever recorded in the 10 years of the glencar inn golf society, well done Pat.
